A Christmas wreath hanging on the door is a wonderful way to greet your guests with a bit of holiday cheer and bring a smile to your face as well. There are hundreds of different wreaths you can choose from. Such as, large wreaths and miniature wreaths, wreaths made of plastic, ones made from real greenery, others with artificial fruits and birds….the list could go on and on.
With all of the choices, you’re bound to select the wrong wreath, right? Absolutely not! There are wreaths that are more suitable than others-for example, you don’t want to get a tiny six inch wreath for an eight foot front door – but other than selecting the right size, you can’t go wrong.
People have many different ideas as to what should go in a Christmas wreath and some of them at first glance don’t appear as if they have anything to do with Christmas at all and that’s okay. Because there are many styles to choose from; you are sure to find something you love.
First, decide on how much you want to spend. Then you’ll want to decide if you want an artificial wreath or a fresh one. Artificial ones are certainly more popular because they can be used year after year and there are some gorgeous artificial ones. You can get them in different sizes and in just about any theme you want. Are you having a country Christmas? You can find a front door wreath to fit that décor.
Do you want your wreath to light up at night; you can pick out a pre-lit wreath. The desire to use lights is one plus in buying an artificial wreath – you won’t have to worry about the needles drying out like you do with a real wreath.
However, if you want a fresh wreath you are more limited on what you will find. Most of your Christmas tree lots sell fresh wreaths with usually just a bow on them. You can order a fresh wreath online just like you can a multitude of other Christmas related items. There are companies who’ll ship the wreaths to you at no cost. The nice thing about a fresh wreath is you get a nice fragrance in the air every time you open or close your front door.
Secondly, know what size your door is that the wreath is to hang on. You don’t want a wreath so small it disappears in the vastness of the door and you don’t want one so big it gets caught every time you open or close the door.
Finally, decide on color and style. It is very common today to decorate in the colors of your existing décor. Not everyone wants to use the traditional red and green…Popular colors are browns, copper and gold’s, – turquoise, purple and greens, – pinks, metallic blue and green apple..etc. Styles range from country, modern and classic so choose with what already goes with your décor.
One tip to keep in mind, is that if you find a wreath you love but you don’t like the color of the bow, you can always change the bow out yourself. Take your time in finding the right wreath for you, especially if it is one you will be using for years to come.
